I think you have been had - lightning goes from the ground to the clouds, and is far too quick to be caught on any film. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, you're the one who has been had. Lightning does not travel from the ground to the clouds. All electricity goes to the ground. That's why there's that third socket on your plug. They go to the ground, hence the term 'grounded'. Pretty sure they don't go to clouds. When there's an imbalance of charges between the clouds and ground, the electricity goes (where else?) to the ground with a spark.

there is cloud-to-ground and ground-to-cloud lightning, although cloud-to-ground lightning is a lot more common.
